Rod Seals

This SRG single acting rod seal is a space-saving low friction glide ring typically used in tandem to buffer and protect the primary rod seal from pressure spikes. Typical materials used are filled PTFE and an NBR energiser ring. The PTFE ring has low frictional properties but it is strengthened with an additive to reduce creep. The ring also eliminates slip stick due to a low break out friction. A wide range of materials are also available for special purpose designs.

This SUU style single acting rod and piston seal has symmetrical lips allowing to be used for both rods and pistons. The deep groove ensures linear movement and low friction at low pressures. SUU’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane and therefore have a high modulus and abrasion resistance and a low compression set.

This SRB style single acting asymmetrical rod seal is used typically with agricultural, material handling and telescopic cylinders. SRB’s are suitable for low pressures and have excellent dry rod characteristics. The secondary lip prevents external contamination, acts as a stabilizer and creates a fluid reservoir between the sealing lips which reduces stick slip. SRB’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane and therefore have a high modulus and abrasion resistance and a low compression set.

This SRA style single acting rod seal is designed for heavy duty applications, often in mining. It is often used in conjunction with wear rings in the gland. It is suitable for high pressure applications and large extrusion gaps, but energised to seal at low pressures as well. SRA’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane with an NBR energiser ring and an acetal anti-extrusion ring.

At low pressures the energiser increases sealing force preventing bypass. These seals can be fitted back to back for double acting applications. This SRD style single acting symmetrical rod or piston seal is compact, flexible, easy to install and designed for light duty applications. SRD’s are manufactured from high grade polyurethane lips providing good low pressure sealing and resistance to extrusion at high pressure.

This DRG style double acting rod seal is suited for one piece pistons as it is excellent for stick slip and high speed movement. It is not suited for a cylinder expected to hold position. The face is manufactured from PTFE and is energised with a nitrile rubber oring.

This SRE style single acting rod seal is flexible making it easy to install. The twin lip design improves sealing and seal stability, lowers friction and provides primary lip protection. This seal has complete lip actuation and enhanced shock handling. SRE’s are manufactured from polyurethane with a nitrile rubber energiser o-ring.

This SUF style single acting rod and piston seal is designed for general medium to heavy duty applications. They are manufactured from a rubberised fabric U-ring bonded to a nitrile rubber energiser. The energizer provides effective sealing at low pressures due to pre-loading from the housing. The u-ring allows effective sealing as the pressure increases. The rubber fabric of the u-ring provide strength and durability. SUF’s are able to contain lubricant, reduce friction and wear.

This SBY style single acting buffer seal with anti-extrusion ring is flexible making it easy to install. To be used in conjunction with a primary rod seal. Design to absorb the spike pressures and protect the primary rod seal. Manufactured from polyurethane with an acetal anti-extrusion ring.
